Privacy (tortugatech.co)

1. The short version

tortugatech.co is a marketing site. It has no user accounts, no email collection, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no cookies. Anyone can read it without giving us anything.

This policy describes the very small amount of data our hosting provider records when you visit. For privacy details about our products (the Datey iOS app), see each product’s own privacy policy.

2. Who we are

Tortuga Global Tech LLC is the data controller for the data described below.

3. What we collect on this site

We do not run our own application servers for tortugatech.co. The site is a static export hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare, acting as our infrastructure provider, automatically records the following for security and performance:

• Your IP address (held by Cloudflare for up to 30 days for abuse detection; not stored by Tortuga)
• The page you requested
• The HTTP method and response status code
• The approximate country your IP geolocates to
• Your browser’s User-Agent string (browser type and version, operating system)
• A timestamp

These records are kept by Cloudflare for up to 30 days for the purposes of detecting abuse, debugging service issues, and producing aggregate, non-identifying traffic statistics that we may consult. They are governed by Cloudflare’s own Privacy Policy.

We do not place any first-party or third-party cookies on your browser. We do not load any analytics JavaScript (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no Cloudflare Web Analytics, no anything else). We do not embed any social widgets, tracking pixels, or advertising tags.

4. App-specific privacy

Each Tortuga Tech product has its own, more detailed privacy policy:

If you install or purchase one of our apps, that app’s policy — not this one — governs the data flowing from your device and your App Store account.

5. Email contact

If you email support@tortugatech.co, we receive your email address and the content of your message via our email provider. We use that information only to respond to you, retain the thread for as long as needed to resolve the matter, and delete it within 24 months of the last reply unless ongoing legal or business need requires longer retention.

6. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection over any personal data we hold about you. Because we hold almost nothing on this site (the Cloudflare logs are with Cloudflare, not us, and contain no identifier we could use to find your records), most requests will result in our confirming there is nothing to release or delete. Email support@tortugatech.co and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or, in the EU/UK, 16). We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children. If you believe a child has interacted with us, please contact us and we will assist.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be summarised in a banner on the home page for at least 14 days.
